Please not that DVD's are not compatible with all DVD players and you should check the DVD compatiability list on our website vpsia.com for those players which do support the DVD-R format. Most recent DVD players will play the DVD-R format but VPS cannot guarantee that the DVD's will play on every player.

This program provides an over-all view of the 2006 Midwest Old Threshers Reunion which was held in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Included are the many activities and events which occured during the Reunion ranging from demonstrations by steam engines, antique tractors and horses to the many activities in the Log Village as they recreate live as it was in the mid-1860's. This program shows arts and crafts being made, family entertainment, numerous exhibits including a newly opening Printers Exhibit which shows many early day printing presses in operation. Additionally, you will see and feel the power of the Midwest Central Railroad as it took visitors around the grounds and enjoy the trolley rides through the southern part of the Old Threshers grounds. Other features of this program include a steam powered carousel, antique cars and trucks, the Cavalcade of Power, threshing, baling, plowing, saw mills in operation, gas engines, a saloon show, train and bank robberies, a veneer and sorghum mill, operating stationary steam engines and a multitude of other events and activities which occured during the Reunion. The Log Village portrays life as it was in the mid-1860's and Snipe Run was home to the saloon, a church and one room school house, a working blacksmith shop, a printing office, bank and post office. Activities included a train and bank robbery, the Cavlacade of Power, a saloon show, family entertainment of all types, threshing, baling, stump pulling, saw mills in operation, static exhibits and many, many other events. Approximate running time is 120 minutes.

The Midwest Old Threshers Reunion is first and foremost an event which preserves the history of American agriculture through live demonstrations and static displays. This tape shows the many ways that farming in America has been captured and maintained by and through the Old Threshers Reunion.

This tape includes demonstrations of the many activities which are demonstrated at the Reunion including horse power, steam engines, gas engines and antique tractors. Additionally, exhibits ranging from the role women played on the American farm to the operation on an authentic grist mill are shown and explained.
